When it comes to reading financial news, there is a lot of information you have to process in every article. To the general users, going through financial news can be a chore, as the articles are not as exciting as the ones on other topics, such as sports, politics, and technology.

To make the financial news articles more interesting to everyone, the developer created AIRA, a chatbot available only on Facebook Messenger. AIRA aims to make this topic more engaging and interesting so that you have fun going through them. Also, AIRA continues to learn from what you read every day so that it tailors the perfect content regularly. All of this sounds good on paper, but, how does the chatbot perform when you try it out?

The developer for AIRA, chose to use Facebook Messenger, as it is one of the most popular platforms for chatbots worldwide. Due to this reason, you have to give permission to the chatbot to use your data before you can start using all its features. When you select “Get Started,” which appears at the bottom of your screen, the chatbot will give you a brief description of its features.

First, the chatbot will ask you if you have any experience in using chatbots. To be honest, this is quite an interesting take from the developer, as he wants to make sure that you know how to use them properly. As we pretended this is the first time we are using a chatbot, we chose “Nope.” The chatbot will tell you how to use chatbots so that they work with zero problems. According to AIRA, you should use the navigation buttons as much as possible, as every chatbot responds to them properly. If you are confused, you can select the hamburger menu on the left side of the chatbox. For smartphone users, you can access the menu directly by scrolling down the chatbox. It also tells you that you should stick to keywords for the time being, as AIRA is still learning how to understand language.

Once you get a proper idea on how to use this chatbot, it will ask you to select from the following topics of interest:

  • Startups
  • Crypto
  • Unicorns
  • Automotive
  • Sustainability
  • Economy
  • Real Estate

The developer added small animations when you touch any of the icons in the menu. You can follow or unfollow the topics, according to your preferences.

As soon as we finished selecting the topics, the chatbot started talking about the latest news in the industry. As we selected “Crypto,” the chatbot gave us news about Neutrino, a blockchain in Japan. The chatbot understood that all users might not understand what is going on, which is why it allows you to learn on the go. For example, when talking about this particular news, you can ask the chatbot “What’s Neutrino?” AIRA will give you a detailed description of this blockchain. It also gives you details about the blockchain, such as the value of its Initial Coin Offering (ICO) and its creator. If the news article interests you, the chatbot will help you dig deeper into this topic. You can learn about the next step of Neutrino or what the Japanese bank’s vision for this blockchain.

If you are not too keen on going through a specific topic, you can select “I’m not interested.” If it intrigues you, the chatbot gives you different ways to continue the conversation. Once AIRA gives you all the information about a particular news article, it will jump to the next topic.

When you take a look at the settings of the chatbot, you can change the frequency of notifications, the level of financial knowledge, and communication. For example, the default communication setting is casual so that it is easy for the anyone to go through the financial news. If the language is not up to your expectations, you can change it to professional.

As we were digging deep into the main menu of the chatbot, we came across a feature known as “Learn.” When you select this option, AIRA will ask you to pick from the following topics:

  • Blockchain
  • Robo-Advisory
  • Volatility

Depending on what you select, the chatbot will give you adequate amounts of information. For example, when you ask it to explain blockchain, the chatbot breaks down this topic so that it is easy to understand. You can also ask the chatbot to give you examples if you are finding it challenging to follow. The last option is “Search,” allowing you to look for specific topics.

AIRA is a wonderful financial news chatbot available on Facebook Messenger because of its unique and interesting features. It makes financial news as simple and compelling as possible. It also helps explain different terminologies, so that you are not left in the dark.

Do give this chatbot a shot on Facebook Messenger so that you can see why we love it!
