The developers of Coach Fitsy used two platforms, Google Assistant and Facebook Messenger for their chatbot. We will be taking a look at the Facebook Messenger variant, to see how it will perform in the real world.

 

Even though this chatbot uses Facebook Messenger as one of its platforms, you don’t have to select “Get Started,” to activate it. Instead, you can type anything you like for the chatbot to respond. Initially, the chatbot will ask you to say hello, so that it can introduce itself. The bot will give you a brief description of itself, before asking you to pick from the following options:

 

  • 5K Running Programme
  • Swimming
  • Cycling
  • Running
  • Fitness FAQ’s
  • Triathlon

 

Let’s see what will happen when you select “5K Running Programme” from its list of options. After it congratulates you for picking this programme, it will ask you about your level of running. You can choose from beginner or intermediate. Depending on what you select, the chatbot will give you a schedule you must follow to achieve your running goals. For starters, if you choose beginner, the chatbot will break down the schedule into six blocks, each representing a week. It will tell you how to train every day until the end of the programme.

 

Upon selecting “Swimming,” the chatbot will tell ask you to choose from the following categories:

 

  • Speed
  • Endurance
  • Threshold
  • CSS

 

When you select “Speed,” the chatbot will give you exercises that will help you improve your timings in the swimming pool. For speed, you have to cover 50 meters in 50 seconds. You have to repeat this exercise every day 50 times, till you notice a significant improvement in your speed. In CSS, you will have to do five sets covering 400 meters every time. In between each set, you can take a break for 40 seconds. Endurance has three different types of exercises, one for warm up, main set, and swim down. The last, which is the threshold, will teach you to push your body to its limits, improving your fitness significantly.

 

When you choose “Cycling,” the chatbot displays the following options:

 

  • Speed
  • Endurance
  • Threshold
  • Indoor Turbo Trainer

 

Based on what you select, the chatbot gives you a list of exercises to follow on a regular basis. For example, let’s say you want to improve your speed or lap time. The chatbot will tell you how to exercise every day so that you can ride your bicycle at a faster speed. Similarly, for endurance, the chatbot shows you how to build up your stamina efficiently. For “Indoor Turbo Trainer,” the chatbot will tell you how to improve your cycling skills.

 

Under “Running,” you can select from the following categories:

 

  • Track session
  • Fartlek
  • Speed
  • Endurance

 

Based on what you select, the chatbot will give you information on how to improve your running skills.

The last option, “Fitness FAQ’s” the chatbot will ask you to pick from these categories:

 

  • Fitness jargon
  • Heart rate zones

 

If you select “Fitness jargon,” the chatbot will give you information about common terminologies, such as FTP, HIIT, and CSS. The chatbot will give you a link, which redirects you to a different page. In “Heart rate zones,” the chatbot will show you how to calculate the maximum heart rate and aerobic training for burning fat to name a few.

Coach Fitsy is a wonderful fitness chatbot you can get on Facebook Messenger. The chatbot comes with a plethora of features, designed to improve your triathlon skills significantly. Whether you are trying to improve your speed, endurance, or threshold, the chatbot is extremely helpful. The developers of the chatbot built it to prepare you for a triathlon. Coach Fitsy is extremely fast in providing the necessary answers. It also comes with FAQs, to help you understand about fitness. One setback about the chatbot is that it may not understand your messages. However, the chatbot will give you a list of options, allowing you to navigate back to the main menu.
