Have Halal, Will Travel, is one of the most popular lifestyle and travel platforms available for Muslim travelers. As the company wants to inspire Muslims to travel the world, their website receives millions of visitors every month. It is one of the most valuable resources available to Muslim travelers, thanks to its enormous database.
To keep up with the ever-growing demand of their target audience, Have Halal, Will Travel released two chatbots, one for their website and the other one for their Facebook page. We will be taking a look at the website-based chatbot today, to see if it has what it takes to answer the questions of their customers.
As we are not reviewing the Facebook Messenger-based chatbot, you will have to go to the company’s official website. At the bottom right corner of the screen, you will find “Chat with Sofia” Have Halal, Will Travel’s chatbot. Upon clicking the box, the chatbot will greet you with a small description of itself.
Sophia will ask you to pick from the following options:
- Halal Food Guides
- Travel Guides
- Budget Travel
Let’s find out what will happen when we use all the features of this chatbot. When you select “Halal Food Guides,” Sophia will ask you if you are visiting any place. Assuming you say yes, the chatbot will ask you to enter the name of the city or country. Let’s say that you are going to Singapore, which is why you are curious about the various cuisines of the country. Sophia will give you a list of articles about the most popular places in Singapore. At the same time, it will suggest popular restaurants which serve halal-certified foods. For example, the chatbot showed us the best buffets to eat where one can break the fast. If you click on the article, Sophia will redirect you to the official blog page, where you can read the entire post. If you want to find out more about the restaurants, all you have to do is click on “View Place.” Sophia will take you to another page where you can get all the information you need about the restaurant, such as summary, cost, opening, and closing timing, to name a few.
When you click on “Travel Guides,” the chatbot will ask you where you want to go for your vacation. Let’s assume that you are going to Hong Kong and want to get as much information as possible before you land in the city. The chatbot is quite helpful as it gives you a list of articles to read up about the city. These articles cover a variety of topics, such as hotels near halal-certified restaurants, and itinerary for Muslims visiting Hong Kong.
If you click on “Itineraries,” the chatbot will ask you if you have any destination in mind. If you say no, the chatbot will show you the itineraries for visiting different places all over the world, such as Switzerland, Japan, and the UK. If you say yes, you have to tell the chatbot which city/country you plan on visiting. All the articles suggested by the chatbot assume that you are going for at least seven days and six nights.
Let’s take a look at the second last option, “Budget Travel,” the chatbot will give you a list of articles that will help in reducing your expenditure. For example, it shows you different restaurants you can eat from, where the prices are low. It also gives you a list of places you can stay without breaking the bank.
If you click on “More,” the chatbot will show you a different set of options such as prayer spaces, accommodations, advertising, jobs, and others. Depending on what you select, the chatbot will show you the appropriate information. For example, if you select “Jobs,” the chatbot will redirect you to a different page on the website where you can apply.
If you don’t wish to select any of the options, you can converse with the chatbot. However, the chatbot only recognizes the names of different cities and countries. Let’s say you want to go to Kyoto, a popular tourist destination in Japan. Upon typing the name of this place, the chatbot will ask you to pick from accommodation, restaurants, travel guides, and itineraries so that it can give you the necessary information.
After every query, the chatbot will ask you if you were happy with its answers. If you say no, the chatbot will ask you to email the company so that they can fix the issue as soon as possible.
Have Halal, Will Travel’s chatbot, Sophia is a great bot as it has all the information on its fingertips. All you have to do is type the name of the city or country to find out everything about the place, such as accommodation, restaurants, and itineraries. The chatbot is responsive to all queries and is more than willing to help you out.
