Waitbusters Air, a travel chatbot for Facebook Messenger, is designed to give its users important information about airports, airplanes and Transportation Security Administration (TSA). Will the chatbot function as expected? Let’s take a look.
To activate the chatbot on Facebook Messenger, you need to click on ‘Get Started.’ The chatbot will give you the following list of options:
- Flight status
- Airport information
- TSA wait time
On selecting flight status, the chatbot will tell you how to search for your flight. You can search for the flight with just the flight number. For example, if you type UA560, the chatbot will display the flights from Chicago to Atlanta for the next three days. It will also show the departure and arrival time of the flight. If you click on flight details, the chatbot will direct you to another website where you will get all the information about the flight. The chatbot will also help in keeping track of the flight on Facebook Messenger with the ‘Receive Updates’ option. You can also book a cab via Lyft or Uber when you land at your respective destination. With Waitbusters Air chatbot, you can search for flights by typing in the name of the airport you will be departing from and the one you will be arriving in. For example, you can type SFO to IAD and the chatbot will display flights from San Francisco to Washington. You can also search for flights by entering the city of departure and arrival.
If you select airport information, the chatbot will tell you how to search for an airport. You can type in the airport code or the name of the airport or the name of the city. For example, if you type IAD, the chatbot will confirm that you want information for Washington Dulles International Airport. The chatbot will then ask if you want directions to the airport, the TSA wait times, a list of all the places for shopping and dining. You can take a look at the map of the airport with the help of the chatbot. You also have the option of booking a cab, enrolling for CLEAR and obtain flight information.
You can also get information about TSA wait times in various airports. All you have to do is enter the airport code or the name of the airport or the city you will be arriving in. If you type Chicago Ohare International Airport, the chatbot will confirm that you want information for that airport. The chatbot will display the TSA wait times for the Chicago Ohare International Airport. For example, the wait time for Terminal 1 gates B – C is 0 – 15 minutes. The wait time for Terminal 5 Gales M is 0 – 15 minutes. You also have the option of skipping the line and shortening the waiting time by enrolling for CLEAR.
At the moment, the Waitbusters Air chatbot only works for airports and flights in the United States of America. Also, the chatbot can only pick up keywords and not natural language. If you type anything other than the keywords, the chatbot will display the main menu.
Overall, Waitbusters Air is an extremely useful travel chatbot available on Facebook Messenger. You will get all the important information about your flight, about the airport you will be landing in and the TSA wait times. However, the chatbot only works for flights and airports within the United States of America. Soon, the chatbot will display information about all flights and airports around the world as the developers are focusing on improving Waitbusters Air.
Do give Waitbusters Air chatbot a try on Facebook Messenger if you want to have an easy time flying around the United States of America.
